C harlene Gowrie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI) as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London and has also earned an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Relations from the Cipriani Labour College.  She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Organization Psychology from the University of London, UK. 

She has worked in the field of Human Resource Management for over fifteen (15) years, her experience spanning various industries in the Manufacturing sector as well as the Media and Communications industry and Consulting. 

During her career, Charlene has managed the Human Resource function developing expertise in a range of areas including Human Resource Strategic Planning, Human Resource Policy development, Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Performance Management Systems, Job Evaluations and preparation of Human Resource Policy Manuals and Job Descriptions/Job Specifications.  She has facilitated training sessions in Competency Development for her former employer and as a Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.  She has conducted, for the public service, a Human Resource Audit and developed the Human Resource Planning model for roll out to the Ministries.  In the field of Industrial Relations, she has been on several negotiating teams and has been involved in grievance handling and dispute settlement.
Charlene has recently joined PMSL as a consultant and her responsibilities will include Training Management and Recruitment, developing Employee Handbooks and Manuals and facilitating training sessions in various aspects of Human Resource Developmentand providing advice in industrial relations

Charlene is passionate about developing people and has been using various systems of personality typing to help people with their personal growth.  She has served as a member of the Battered Women’s Shelter, the Rape Crisis centre and has volunteered at the YMCA teaching remedial classes.
